Stowe has wonderful hiking trails, both easy and challenging. There are miles and miles on bike paths for biking and Rollerblading. In the summer there are open air concerts, golfing, fly fishing, hot air balloon rides, and a farmers' market. There are many beautiful lakes nearby for hiking, canoeing, swimming or fishing. The Village has also become a destination for mountain bikers, with hundreds of miles of trails of varying degrees of difficulty maintained by the Stowe Bike Club. Contact the owner for information on mountain biking lessons and tours, or fly fishing lessons.Stowe is known for its great restaurants, many to choose from just minutes away. There are two spas in Stowe, the Stowe Flake, and Top Notch—both wonderful. There's lots of antiquing in the surrounding areas--and prices in Vermont are quite reasonable. For a day trip choose from Burlington, Montpelier or Montreal.

There are hundreds of miles of trails for cross country skiing or snow shoeing, and of course ice skating as well. Or try a sleigh ride, or ice fishing, or if the weather is not cooperating try the new not-your-average bowling alley, with a full bar, and trendy restaurant.
